Fire Starter Festival launch event 2020
The launch event for Fire Starter Festival 2020, three weeks of inspiring, creative and collaborative events exploring public services.
About this Event
Join us for The Portraits of Scotland Launch – a creative, innovative and interactive event to open Fire Starter Festival 2020.
Our launch will spark your curiosity, ignite your imagination, and give you the opportunity to come together with others to be a part of something truly magical.
At this event we invite you to explore what is your picture of a future Scotland.
To help ignite our imagination we are delighted that we will be holding the launch on the 27th January in the Great Hall of the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh.
We will explore our highest aspirations for Scotland and what role the arts play in changing and shaping the future. We will be joined by a number of speakers including: Sarah Davidson (Chief Executive of The Carnegie Trust), Suzy Glass (Producer), Jocelyn Cunningham (Director of Lancaster Arts), Leonie Bell (Strategic Lead, Paisley Partnership Cultural Regeneration, Renfrewshire Council), Richie Cumming (National Galleries Scotland), Kate Wimpress (Director of North Edinburgh Arts) and Bob Cairns (Member of the Europac Youth Manifesto). Poet Caren Gilbert will do a poem at the end summing up what she has heard.
Please share your thoughts and pictures from the event with #fsf2020.
Fire Starter Festival is an annual three week festival highlighting and celebrating innovation and creativity in Scottish public services, with a particular focus on transformational change. It allows people from all aspects of public service to showcase and share the innovative and creative ways they are making a difference to Scotland. We hope you’ll be able to join us for what will be an amazing, provocative learning event sparking off the festival. Please check out all the different events in our FSF events calendar. The festival runs between 27 January and 14 February 2020.
